American Cheese




2 cups Boiling Water

2 cups Raw Cashews

¼ cup Rolled Oats (gluten free) to thicken

¼ Tbsp. Garlic Powder

1 Tbsp. Sea Salt

1 Pimento, or ½ large sweet red pepper or about 2 Tbsp. paprika

¼ cup nutritional yeast flakes (*optional)

2 Tbsp. Onion Powder

¼ cup Lemon Juice

Instructions for American Cheese:

Add cashews and blend thoroughly. Add remaining ingredients. Blend until mixture is the consistency of a creamy sauce, with no bits of pimento visible. Pour into a 1 qt. mold and cool slightly. Cover and refrigerate overnight before serving. After firming in the refrigerator, this cheese may be frozen until needed. Makes 1 qt.

NOTE: If you have a smaller blender, you may have to make half of this recipe at a time.
